Heather’s work is an honest reflection of the inherent contradiction of being human - hoping for light at the end of a dark tunnel; fighting our wants for our needs; and how even well-intentioned power often corrupts.

Heather often feels like a walking contradiction herself. Growing up in an insular religion that often repeated the adage, “your guardian angel won’t follow you into a movie theater,” Heather couldn’t help herself. She replayed her parent’s treasured VHS collection and roamed the aisles of her local Blockbuster, much like she roamed the aisles of her local church on the weekend. In stories she found an authentic exploration of human flaws stripped from the pretension often present in her community.

When she was a girl, Heather started writing her own stories. At age eleven she finished her first script and at fourteen wrote the school Christmas play. In adulthood, she’s lived many lives - as a small-time touring musician, radio DJ, and podcast producer. But the strangest has been as a “pastor’s wife,” a front row seat to raw humanity - the joy, pain, baggage, grift, and the power of true human connection to make a difference.

Her writing is a search for something that rings true in a world that often pretends.

Heather currently works as a producer for several podcasts exploring religion, pop culture, and social issues, and she completed her MFA in TV + Screenwriting from Stephens College in 2022.
